One of the most popular themes with songwriters has always been about places — both far away and closer to home. That’s what we’ll be celebrating on today’s show. Our singers and musicians bring us recordings from the 1940s and 1950s in a selection of songs, beginning in 1948 with “Far Away Places” by Margaret Whiting. We visit the US, Europe, South America and Canada in our journey through these wonderful songs and performances. Enjoy the trip!
