On this morning’s show we listen to recordings from the early 1930s through to the late 1950s made by big bands, singers and small groups. We hear their interpretations of some of the classic songs written by the great songwriters. Among those joining us today are Ella Fitzgerald with Chick Webb from 1938, as well as Frank Sinatra with Tommy Dorsey, just as both singers were starting out on their legendary careers. Also from an earlier time we hear Ethel Waters, as well as Helen Ward with Benny Goodman — and lots of other stunning voices!
