On Today’s show we listen to some of the delightful voices in jazz and popular music, through recordings made from the late 1920s through to the late 1950s. We’re joined among others by Helen Forrest and Helen Ward, as well as Billie Holiday and Anita O’Day. Our men sings include Mel Tormé, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. Smith Ballew is featured on a recording from 1929 with the Dorsey Brothers orchestra, and from 1948 Tony Martin brings us Jerome Kern’s timeless composition, “Make Believe”. Enjoy some classic songs, brought to us by wonderful singers and musicians!
