This episode begins with some tracks featuring songs that contain apples and oranges.Jazz Fusion pioneer, Jan Hammer gets things going with his unique way of playing. He was a big part of the jazz fusion movement back in the 1970’s. I had a chance to see him live at the old El Casino in Montreal years ago. One of a kind for sure. The great blues singer Bessie Smith is featured with her classic rendition of Careless Love. She influenced so many singers including the timeless Janis Joplin. I just had to feature Eric Dolphy in this episode. The urge was too great. Bee Vamp was one of his most well known pieces. All in all a solid two hours of great jazz.
