IHTSB Feb 19, 2023

On today’s show we feature a selection of singers from the early 1930s to the mid 1960s. From the early days we listen to Ethel Waters with the Gershwin classic “I Got Rhythm”, and Adelaide Hall with “Drop Me Off In Harlem”. Sarah Vaughan joins us with two numbers, including a duet with Billy Eckstine. We enjoy too the honey tones of Nat King Cole and the magnificent voice of Sammy Davis Jr. And we hear too from Jimmy Rushing with one of his many recordings with the brilliant orchestra led by Count Basie. Enjoy these and our other wonderful singers!!
