On today’s show we’ll be listening to big bands in recordings from the Swing Era. Also known as the Big Bands era, this period spanned the years from the mid 1930s through to the late 1940s. Many of the jazz artists from earlier days got together in large orchestras, performing in the studios, on tour, on radio to produce some amazing music. There were more arrangements, orchestras playing in the call and response format, with lots of brilliant solo performances dotted through the pieces. Enjoy some classic jazz from these wonderful bands!
