IHTSB Dec 31, 2023

Welcpme to our final show for 2023, when we celebrate the music we’ve been listening to over the past year and look forward to another year of wonderful music on I’ve Heard That Song Before! It’s becoming a tradition on the show to look ahead to the new year with fabulous jazz from recordings made by the great musicians at the time — today from the late 1930s to the late 1940s. We’ll hear two recordings from one of the founding “fathers of jazz”, Sidney Bechet. Our playlist also includes some lovely piano work from Teddy Wilson, Gene Schroeder and Joe Sullivan, as well as fine trumpet solos from Billy Butterfield and Muggsy Spanier, and the ever wonderful Bud Freeman brings us his tenor sax on two recordings. Enjoy some classic jazz to bring in the New Year!
