Today’s show features recordings from a range of singers and musicians made in the 1930s to the 1960s. Among our singers today, we listen to Ella Fitzgerald, Mildred Bailey and Mel Tormé with some classic songs from the great songwriters. Count Basie and Artie Shaw join us with their big bands and we hear from several smaller jazz groups — Chet Baker brings us his trumpet as well as his voice, some more wonderful trumpet from Clyde Hurley and Max Kaminsky, and Johnny Guarnieri joins us with his salute to Fats Waller. Enjoy the wonderful sounds!!
