On this week’s show we celebrate the beginning of summer, which will start on Tuesday June 21 this year. Our recordings include songs about the season, the sun and the month of June. We’ll listen to three versions of George Gershwin’s classic composition “Summertime”, brought to us by Chet Baker, Sidney Bechet and Maxine Sullivan. We enjoy the voices of Vic Damone with “My Sunshine” and Frank Sinatra with his interpretation of the poignant tune “The Things We Did Last Summer”. Ella Fitgerald brings us the haunting “Midnight Sun”, and we’re joined once again by Benny Goodman and Helen Forrest as they bring us their recording of “When The Sun Comes Out”. Some lovely music for a lovely time of year!
