Our show today celebrates some of the small group jazz recordings made in the 1930s to the 1950s. Our selection today includes classic pieces, such as Miles Davis’ 1956 recording of “My Funny Valentine”, and Sidney Bechet with “Save It Pretty Mama” from 1945. Listen to traditional jazz numbers from Jelly Roll Morton and Bunk Johnson, as well as delightful recordings from artists Teddy Wilson and Edmund Hall. And we start off with that magnificent performer, Fats Waller with a recording he made in 1938 on a visit to the Abbey Road studio in London, England. Enjoy our line up of great jazz!
