Today’s show features songs about dreams. This topic was, and remains, a favourite theme for songwriters over the ages, as demonstrated in our recordings from the 1930s through to the 1950s. Among our highlights on the show are the gorgeous voices of Doris Day, Helen Forrest and Ella Fitgerald. Bing Crosby brings us one of his signature tunes, “I’ve Got A Pocketful Of Dreams’, and we hear too from Frank Sinatra with “I Guess I’ll Have to Dream the Rest” from 1950. And enjoy our superb musicians as well today, with recordings from big bands and smaller groups of these delightful songs.
