Our show today features singers, orchestras and small jazz groups in recordings from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. Among our jazz groups we’ll hear from the Quintette of the Hot club of France, Billy Kyle and his Big Eight as well as groups led by Bob Wilber and Mel Powell. Ambrose and his orchestra join us with singer Alan Dean, as will Artie Shaw and singer Anita Boyer and Teddy Wilson with singer Jean Eldridge. From the 1950s we’ll listen to lovely recordings from Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra as well as from Vic Damone and Mel Tormé. Enjoy some delightful songs!
