Today’s show features recordings from the 1930s through to the 1950s. We’re joined by singers Nat King Cole, Helen Ward and Billie Holiday, and also by several smaller jazz groups with recordings from the independent jazz labels of the time. And we hear too from some larger orchestras: Charlie Barnet leads his band in a recording of one of his own compositions and Benny Goodman brings us Helen Ward in a delightful rendition of a Rodgers and Hart classic. Enjoy the music!!
