We start off the year with a selection of musicians and singers from the 1930s to the 1960s. Joining us today are some lovely female vocalists: Helen Forrest with Artie Shaw from 1939, Doris Day in a 1952 duet with Andre Previn, and Billie Holiday from 1950 with one of many recordings she made with the Decca label at that time. Listen to a beautiful piece arranged and conducted by Robert Farnon in 1964, and a recording of “Long Ago and Far Away” by Chet Baker in 1955, featuring not only his legendary trumpet style but also one of several delightful vocals from this legendary artist. And we end with the gorgeous tones of Nat King Cole and trio from 1946. Happy New year and welcome to I’ve Heard That Song Before for 2022!
